iPhone app news: Homer Simpson on TomTom app

Woohoo! Download Homer in-app for £3.49

The world's favourite dad arrives on TomTom's navigation app.

Google Maps Navigation for Android might be both free and brilliant, but TomTom's iOS app has an ace up its sleeve, the voice of the legendary Homer Simpson pointing you in the right direction.

The TomTom for iPhone app costs an austerity-bucking price of £49.99 to download from the App Store, and you can acquire Homer - voiced by Simpson's actor Dan Castellaneta - for just £3.49 as an in-app purchase.

Unsurprisingly there's a few of cartoon patriarch's favourite sayings on-board, if you mess-up you'll be greeted with a "D'oh!" or a "Haha, you goofed"

Simpson joins Star Wars favourites, Darth Vader, Yoda and C3PO as available voices for TomTom's smartphone app although we're not sure we'd want the world's clumsiest man giving us directions.

"Homer Simpson is one of the most familiar and fondly recognised cartoon characters on the planet. So to have Homer become uniquely available for our TomTom App for iPhone is really thrilling for us," said TomTom's Alan Pakiry

"Homer's skills will help keep drivers and fans entertained in a light hearted and familiar way. It's exciting to have him on board!" he continued.
