iPhone app news: 4oD now available on iPhone

iPad app transitions down to the smaller iOS device

Have some Peep Show and Glee on your iPhone.

Channel 4's catch-up TV service 4oD is now available on the iPhone.

The free app, developed by Nice Agency, has been a great success on the larger-screen iPad, and now has the iPhone 4's Retina Display for that extra little touch of clarity and crispness.

The new app brings TV from the last 30 days from Channel 4, More4 and E4, while there's no access to the US shows or the Channel 4 archive - which means no on-demand Father Ted. The channel says it is working on bringing that content to iOS devices.

There's also the option to buy the show to keep through iTunes.

4oD Catch-up for iPhone will work over Wi-Fi, but not 3G, adds to the device's growing list of TV-on-the-go services from UK broadcasters following Sky Go's arrival on the App Store.

Although it has an iPad and Android app, we're still waiting for the BBC iPlayer to be launched for the iPhone.
