High-speed continental rail service Eurostar has launched a new app for iPhone and Android which will allow passengers to book tickets from within the application.

The new, free app will offer journeys between London, Paris, Brussels and Lille and provide users with an instant mobile ticket, so if you're in a rush you can simply book your ticket on your way to Kings Cross station.

You can check in for your journey using the app, make bookings for up to six people and also review your bookings. Members of Eurostar's loyalty schemes will also be able to collect points using the app.

For those without Android and iPhone smartphones, Eurostar has also launched an enhanced version of its mobile website, Eurostar.com which will offer a similar experience to the iPhone app.

Nick Mercer, Commercial Director for Eurostar says: “Our aim is to make using our services as easy and seamless as possible. So with the majority of our customers now owning a smartphone, we are really pleased that we are able to provide a new suite of services that make booking and checking in even easier for them.

“The new Eurostar App and mobile website represent the start of many exciting mobile developments for Eurostar, which will help ensure we become the first choice operator of short haul travel from the UK to Europe.”
