Continuing the run of wildly speculative iPhone 5 rumours doing the rounds, an O2 representative has reportedly confirmed the iPhone 5 UK release date will be on October 21st.

Tech blog KnowYourMobile has reported that speaking with an O2 customer service representative an unnamed ‘tipster’ was openly informed that the much mooted next-generation Apple handset will be making a late October arrival.

“The customer service representative told our tipster that the iPhone 5 would be getting released on October 21,” the latest release date iPhone rumour said.

Further reports earlier this month have also suggested an October 21st iPhone 5 arrival with a leaked Best Buy store plan hinting at a new Apple display on the now infamous date. Elsewhere on the iPhone 5 rumour front recent claims have suggested the mythical handset will touch down with an 8-megapixel camera capable of shooting Full HD 1080p video content alongside a new, slimmer form factor and a dual-core processor.
