The heavily rumoured Apple iPhone 5 has entered production, new reports suggest, with much speculation still surrounding the mooted iPhone 5 release date.

According to sources of Japanese tech site Macotakara Apple’s iPhone manufacturers Foxconn and Pegatron have started assembling the next-generation Apple handset but are currently not packing the devices as they are still to be loaded with the upcoming iOS 5 operating system.

Stating that the upcoming OS “isn’t ready” yet Macotakara’s latest reports follow claims an iPhone 5 prototype had been lost in a bar and hint at a possible October arrival.

Whilst confirmed specs for the device are currently unknown it is expected the handset will boast a dual-core processor and 8-megapixel camera from launch.
