The iPhone 5 will go up for pre-order on 30 September, before hitting shelves on 7 October. That’s according to sources speaking with 9to5mac, independently backing up reports which emerged last week that the updated handset would be out in the first week of October.
Word is that Apple could slip this back to 14 October, but that production on the new phone is going well and the earlier date is currently more likely. Rumours suggest the company could unleash two new phones: one basic, affordable model, the other the much-rumoured iPhone 5 with improved camera, voice assistant smarts and slimline frame.
This latest gossip does seem to peg an Apple event for September, despite the insistence of senior Stateside journalists that such a gathering would not happen until October.
