iPhone 4 being delivered early

First pre-orders set to show up on 23 June

Tips across the web point to some lucky punters getting new Apple phone before official release.

The web is alive this morning with talk of the iPhone 4 rocking up early. A day early, to be precise. The all-new cell isn’t due out until 24 June, but Apple has been firing off emails saying some customers will get their mitts on one on 23 June. That’s tomorrow.

The email, seemingly sent to a select few of those who pre-ordered the minute they were able to, reads, “This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.”

This wouldn’t be unusual. The first iPad shipments started showing up 24 hours before the tablet hit shelves and this would certainly give Apple something more to brag about ahead of what will doubtless be a record-breaking weekend.

These early deliveries follow previous reports that some iPhone 4 pre-orders were being cancelled by Apple, with no explanation. Have you got a confirmation email saying your iPhone 4 will roll up before 24 June? Then make sure you tell us now.
