Apple iPad Mini Launch
The iPad Mini got its UK launch today with customers able to walk into an Apple store and pick up the smaller tablet in slate/black or white/silver. The 7.9-inch display makes it the smallest tablet that Apple have ever made.
Despite its smaller size Apple claims that the iPad Mini is every bit as much an iPad as their other models. By using the 7.9-inch display the company has been able to make sure that all current apps will still work without any adjustment needed.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the iPad Mini however has been its price, with Apple entering the 7-inch tablet market the company is already up against the award-winning Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire, both of which cost less.
Apple fought back during its launch presentation claiming that the unrivalled ecosystem of the App Store and the iPad Mini's bigger screen more than make up for the premium that comes with it.
In our iPad Mini reviews round-up it's clear that while critics have been very positive overall the issue of the price and lower screen resolution hasn't been ignored. In the mean time why not check out our iPad Mini hands-on review.
