The Daily Telegraph has followed rival paper The Times onto the iPad by offering a paid-for subsciption service to a digital version of the newspaper.
Telegraph for iPad is free to download from the App Store, but if you buy the paper on a daily basis, it'll cost you £1.19 per issue, or a much more reasonable £9.99 for a monthly sub. Those who still subscribe to the paper edition will get the iPad content free of charge.
The previous version of the Telegraph app, launched in September 2010, had offered free ad-supported access to the content and the new price for the same content has not been met well by users commenting on iTunes.
The new version of the app brings multimedia content with videos and galleries, interactive crosswords and the paper's famous cartoonists and, by the looks of the video preview on the Telegraph's website, a really intuitive UI.
The Telegraph iPad edition will be available to download each morning at 5am and then available to read offline. Readers will also be able to access a 30-day digital archive of previous editions. Ex-pats will be happy to know that the Telegraph iPad edition is also available internationally.
