Second-gen Apple tablet attracks large queues
With just hours to go until the UK release of the Apple iPad 2, queues outside Apple’s flagship Regent Street store have begun circling the block with Team Apple posing a strong force.
Lead by first in the queue, 32 year old Jewels Lewis, the first 12 people preparing to buy the eagerly awaited iPad 2 have shown their support for the Cupertino-based company and which side of T3’s OS campaign they fall by donning Team Apple t-shirts.
Set to go on sale at 5pm this evening, eager iPad 2 consumers have been queuing from as early as 7:30 yesterday morning to avoid the 2-3 week delivery waiting period that is to plague those early online preorders made following this morning’s web store addition.
Adding front and rear facing cameras, the new A5 1GHz dual-core processor and a slimmer, lighter form factor, the Apple iPad 2 will be available from £399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model with prices rising up to £659 for the 64GB Wi-Fi +3G edition. For the first table Apple’s market leading tablet will be available as either a black or a white model.
