iPad 2: suppliers prepare for February 2011 shipments
Dual cameras, faster processor and more RAM pegged for Apple tablet update.
Insiders have revealed that three component makers have been brought on board by Apple to help build the iPad 2, as Cupertino preps itself for the forthcoming release of the successor to its wildly popular tablet.
Digitimes has got the inside line, claiming that three companies, Ibiden, Tripod Technology and TTM Technologies, are all involved, and that Apple will be adding more suppliers in February, when it plans to ramp up shipments ahead of launch.
That date suggests the next-gen slate will land less than a year after the iPad first hit shelves in the States. The Wi-Fi only model first went on sale in April this year.
