The much hyped arrival of the Apple iPad 2 is scheduled to occur early next month on February 9th, new leaked images of the mooted device suggest.

An image which reportedly depicts the homescreen of the iPad 2 launch shots has leaked online with the calendar application showing the date as February 9th. This speculative launch date evidence adds gains a speck of conviction as the homescreen of last year’s original iPad unveiling saw the calendar app depicting the date as January 27th, matching the date Steve Jobs took to the stage and shook the tech industry.

With the expected arrival of the iPad 2 now just a few short weeks away, the rumour mill of what specifications and features the second generation tablet will boast has kicked into overdrive with everything from a Retina display and dual-cameras to an SD card slot and a slimmer form factor suggested.

Following the unveiling of iOS 4.3 Beta version 2 recently, iPad-bound icons have been found for Camera, FaceTime and PhotoBooth applications, all but confirming the inclusion of the much anticipated and competitively required front and rear-facing camera inclusions.
