iPad 2: "don't get your hopes up" says Apple staffer
iPad 3 is the one to get het up over says insider.
Today’s iPad 2 launch event might be getting some Steve Jobs stardust. But that aside, the iPad 2 is nothing to get excited about according to an anonymous Apple staffer.
“For the iPad 2 don’t get your hopes up too high. That’s all I’m going to say,” the insider told Cult of Mac. “They’ve had a number of problems along the way, and the third-generation iPad is the one to make a song and a dance about.”
Apparently, the iPad 3 remains on track for release later this year, but today’s bash will focus mainly on a much-mooted update to MobileMe. Word is Apple’s cloud offering will become a digital locker for movies and videos bought from iTunes, with the source backing up previous claims about changes to the service.
As for the iPad 2, it’ll have a better speaker, new cameras and a thinner, lighter design said the staffer, reiterating gossip that’s been swirling round the web for weeks.
We’ll be covering the iPad 2 launch event live, so stay tuned for all the news from San Francisco as it happens.
