Last week gossip was rife about iOS 4.3, thanks largely to the release of Rupert Murdoch’s The Daily newspaper for iPad. The paper requires a new in-app purchasing function in order to work, but is being given away for free during its first two weeks on the virtual news stand.

Once that grace period runs out, Apple will have to release iOS 4.3. Apple’s Eddy Cue admitted at the launch of the paper that it would making an announcement about the update soon.

The MacStories report says the update will be released at 10am PST on 14 February, so expect to see the Wi-Fi hotspot-packing software boost land on UK-based iPads and iPhones from about 6pm.
