iMac refresh incoming?

Low stocks point to rejigged all-in-one

Updated iMac could follow much-touted Mac Pro later this summer.

An iMac refresh could be on the cards, with Apple reportedly telling third party resellers that stock of the all-in-one machine is starting to run low.

That generally means an updated version is being primed. The ‘person familiar with the matter’ has said the shortage relates to the 21.5-inch iMac, suggesting the basic model is about to get some tasty new specs.

Elsewhere, US retailers have been told to keep stocks of the iMac low, apparently in order to stop punters dropping cash on an old model.

Any new version the iMac is likely to be accompanied by a tarted up Mac Pro, something that’s been mooted for the best part of a year. Were you planning on buying an iMac? Will this make you wait? Tell us now on Facebook and Twitter.
