UK network provider and smartphone retailer Vodafone has announced it is to exclusively offer the newly launched Android 2.3 Huawei Ascend G300

Expanding its growing range of own-brand smartphones, Chinese tech giant Huawei has launched its latest pocket blower with the Huawei Ascend G300 hitting the UK via network provider Vodafone.

Joining the network’s range of mid-range pay-as-you-go smartphones, the Huawei Ascend G300 is available now, joining the heavy contingent of Android handsets in running Google’s Android 2.3 mobile operating system, Gingerbread.

Whist an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS update has been confirmed for later in the summer, the Huawei handset lands with a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera joined by an expansive 4-inch display and 2.5GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB by microSD card.

Packing a zippy 1GHz processor the Vodafone exclusive Ascend G 300 lines up at just 130g in weight with the chrome and white finished design acting as a shell to Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity options, an impressive battery life and engaging video playback.

Exclusive to the red hued network, the Huawei Ascend G300 is available for purchase now with the Android device to set wannabe owners back just £100 on a PAYG basis when bought with a £10 top-up.

For those looking to spread the handset cost out; the pocket blower is available free on a 24 month, £15.50 per month contract that sees users handed 100 inclusive monthly minutes, 500 texts and a 250MB data allowance.
