HTC Touch Pro2 launches
Never go into the office again
We reviewed the original HTC Touch Pro back in October 2008, describing it in not-so-glowing terms as a 'good work-oriented' smartphone. Is the HTC Touch Pro2 an improvement? Well, on first impressions, it looks a considerable step up.
Like the newly-announced Touch Diamond2, HTC's flagship work buddy offers up the latest TouchFLO 3D interface, now more heavily integrated into Windows Mobile 6 to offer faster access to messaging, email, photos and messages. And if you love a meeting, you might enjoy playing with Straight Talk, the option to start a conference call from a list of contacts, throwing in super-clear sound and a built-in mic, should you want to spread it round the boardroom table.
Other new features include a 'single contact' message page, displaying a history of messages for each contact, no matter if it was by phone, email, a rather useful 'push internet' function (essentially fast access to your favourite sites) and on the technical side, a 3.6-inch widescreen display, a slide-out, full QWERTY keyboard, microSD slot, HSDPA connectivity and GPS.
Not a lot of 'fun' packed in here, but an awful lot of function, coupled with a stylish look to match your Armani suit. Save some of the office budget for early summer, that's when the HTC Touch Pro2 is likely to land.
