HTC Sense coming to Windows Phone 7

Phone boss spills details on tweaking Microsoft's new OS

Sense will land on Windows Phone 7 despite Microsoft blocking UI changes.

HTC is going to bring elements of HTC Sense to Windows Phone 7. That’s the word from the mobile maker’s Drew Bamford, who says Sense will “augment” rather than replace Windows Phone 7’s UI.

That’s no surprise, as Microsoft has already made it clear that it doesn’t want its sleek interface customised to within an inch of its life. In an interview with Forbes, Bamford said, “We won’t be able to replace as much of the core Windows Phone experience, but we will augment it.”

Saying HTC could still “innovate”, Bamford did not go into detail on what changes would be made. Friend Stream and Leap are features that the resurgent Taiwanese tech titan will doubtless want to include.
