HTC is in the process of developing a Samsung Galaxy Note-style 5-inch device, set to hit shelves in either September or October, according to reports
HTC reportedly working on a 5-inch 'phablet' device
A ‘phablet’, the term given to devices that double up as both a phone and a tablet, Asian site Digitimes claims the device will sport a 1794x1080 pixel resolution display, as well as Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon S4 processor.
According to KnowYourMobile, the device could also come equipped with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
A HTC spokesperson told T3: “We don’t comment on speculation or rumours. At the moment, the HTC One X has the largest screen [4.7 inches] out of all of our handsets.”
Meanwhile, Samsung is set to announce the follow-up to its hugely popular Samsung Galaxy Note handset, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, at IFA later this month.
