Specifications of the follow up to the critically acclaimed HTC One have been leaked online.
It is unclear what evleaks means by preliminary. They did not expand on the term. It could mean that it is an older version of the specifications or that it is specifications for the final prototype.
Regardless, if genuine, the specifications point towards a high-end smartphone.
Preliminary HTC M8 specs: Snapdragon MSM8974, 5" 1080p display, 2GB RAM, UltraPixel rear / 2.1MP front cams, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, KK, Sense 6.0

According to evleaks, the HTC M8 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a 5-inch display and 2GB of RAM. It will – perhaps unsurprisingly – come with Android 4.4 KitKat, Sense 6.0 and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac connectivity.
Its rear camera is said to be an UltraPixel, while the front camera will be 2.1 megapixels.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard these specs. However, considering evleaks’s track record, we’d expect the final specs to be the same or very close considering their “preliminary” statement.
HTC hasn’t officially acknowledged that it is working on a successor to the HTC One. The HTC One has been a major success for the Taiwanese phone maker.
Last year, it picked up Phone, Gadget and Design of the Year at the T3 Gadget Awards.
It is unlikely that we’ll see the phone in any shape or form until Mobile World Congress 2014 next month.
