HTC has officially unveiled its first mobile handset to tout a glasses-free 3D display in the form of the US only HTC Evo 3D.
Utilising the same sans-glasses auto-stereoscopic technology found in the LG Optimus 3D that was unveiled earlier this year, the HTC Evo 3D will allow users to watch 3D movies, play 3D games and, thanks to the rear-mounted dual five-meg snapper, shoot and record 3D pictures and videos all direct from their handset.
Touting an impressively large 4.3-inch 960 x 540p resolution display, speedy 1.2GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor and Google’s Android 2.3 mobile operating system, Gingerbread, the Evo 3D boasts one of the most impressive spec sheets of any current smartphone.
This already impressive list of specs is further bolstered by the handset’s dual-lens camera that is capable of shooting 720p HD 3D video and Full HD 1080p 2D videos with a HDMI port allowing for HD video transfer.
Due to launch this summer, the HTC Evo 3D, which will run on Sprint’s 4G WiMax network, will be exclusive to the US seemingly indefinitely with no UK release date yet even hinted towards.
