October 6th shipping date expected for new Desire

The HTC Desire Z is set to be available on T-Mobile and O2 despite initial reports that the new Desire would be an exclusive to Vodafone.

Unveiled along with the HTC Desire HD this week, the hinged 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen smartphone now appears on Mobile Phones Direct, (screenshot here) which is featured as a site on the ‘where to buy’ section of HTC's own website.

T-Mobile pay monthly contracts range from £30 to £40 a month with the best deal, a £30 a month contract, offering the Desire Z handset for free, plus 900 minutes per month, 500 texts, unlimited mobile web per month, and three months insurance.

For those who want to grab the Desire Z on O2, pay monthly contracts range from £30 to £45 a month. For £30 a month you can get 300 minutes a month, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile web per month.

The website which states that it is an 'Ultimate HTC partner' says to allow 17 days for delivery and to expect dispatch on the 6th October.
