Vodafone has announced it is to offer the hotly anticipated HTC Desire S with the Android 2.4 device now available for pre-order ahead of a April 8th UK release date.
Set to touch down in the UK next week, the follow up to the phenomenally successful HTC Desire handset will be available on the red-hued network free of charge when wannabe owners sign up to a two year £30 per month contract that comes equipped with 600 inclusive monthly minutes, half a gig of data and unlimited text messages.
Officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month the HTC Desire S is to run version 2.4 of Google’s Android mobile OS, Gingerbread, with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display to be joined by 768MB of RAM and a nippy 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
A rear-mounted 5-megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities alongside a front facing VGA camera complete the Desire S’ impressive spec sheet.
