HTC has confirmed that the eagerly awaited Android Gingerbread for HTC Desire update is to officially land this month.
Making the announcement via its official Facebook page, HTC has confirmed that although it previously stated the Desire would not be getting a 2.3 Gingerbread update before giving in to public demand, the substantial software update will now be available in July.
“We have more news about our build of Gingerbread for Desire,” the HTC statement read. “Our testing has gone well so we will begin rolling out the update by the end of July!”
The news follows a Facebook announcement from the Taiwanese phone manufacturer last month that revealed testing had begun on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS for the HTC Desire handset.
