HTC Desire FroYo update: Three upgrade starts this morning

Network confirms Android 2.2 rollout

FroYo finally heading to Three's HTC Desires, months after initial unveiling.

Android FroYo is finally on its way to HTC Desires using the Three network here in the UK. The rollout of the upgrade begins at 9am today, after Three revealed its plans via its official Twitter page.

In a short tweet, the bargain-bucket mobile maven said, “HTC Desire owners, Android 2.2 Froyo update - HTC have said the update v2.25.771.1 will be live at 16:00 10/14 (TW time).”

The time simply refers to when the upgrade begins in Taiwan, although don’t expect your Desire to have FroYo’s killer features at 9am precisely. These rollouts tend to take a few hours.

Three’s move to FroYo has taken ages, with other networks also struggling to load the HTC Desire up with the new version of the OS in timely fashion. FroYo was first outed way back at the start of summer and Android 3.0 Gingerbread is expected to be unveiled in a matter of weeks.
