Denials from social network about dedicated Facebook phone fail to stop rumour gathering pace.
HTC is prepping a new Android phone with a dedicated Facebook button, and will have it primed and ready to show the world’s press at next week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The news comes from the Financial Times, which says the phone will make an appearance alongside HTC’s much-touted Android tablet.
Facebook recently denied that a phone centred round the social network existed. However, that followed claims that a cloud-based blower using Facebook’s branding was about to be released. A phone with one push access to Facebook is a different proposition entirely.
The news comes after INQ unveiled its Facebook-friendly Cloud Touch yesterday. That phone already rocks deep integration with the social network, including one touch access to friends, news feeds and status updates. You can check out our hands-on with the Cloud Touch now.
