News comes after frantic rush to buy cut price tablet.
HP has confirmed that it will be releasing a small number of discontinued TouchPad tablets later this year, with the current batch having sold out after prices were slashed. The 16GB TouchPad dropped to just £89, while the 32GB model fell to £115.
The news comes via an official email from HP. “While we do not yet have specific details, we know it will be at least a few weeks before we have a limited quantity available again,” reads the missive.
This decision follows a raft of reports about suppliers being left with TouchPad components, but being unsure what to actually do with them. The high level of demand means HP is now keen to at least get as many TouchPads out there as possible, even if its webOS plans are doomed.
