HMV’s flagship Oxford street store has announced it will be holding the Call of Duty: Black Ops II official UK launch on Monday, November 12, with eager gamers being able to pick up the futuristic shooter as the clock strikes midnight.
A thousand fans of the series are expected to attend the event, which begins at 10pm, in what is being touted as the biggest entertainment launch of the year.
Gamers are not only going to be treated to the release of the game, but also to special activities including a play through of the single player campaign and the intriguingly labelled ‘Zombie bus stop’.
HMV’s Category Manager for Games, Andy Pinder, said: “I hear the new perks are great and I’m particularly looking forward to seeing what they’ll be like. This is undoubtedly the games release of the year, which is great news not just for fans but retailers alike as we head into Christmas.”
Black Ops II continues the yearly releases of Call of Duty games and is a direct sequel to 2010’s five star rated Black Ops. Check back in the coming days to see if this installment reaches the same standards as the first.
