Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games has officially relaunched its now infamous gaming release GTA III with the iconic title making the jump to mobile platforms hitting Apple's iOS and Google's Android devices.

A game often associated with bad press and violence, Grand Theft Auto III is available for a host of Android devices and Apple’s complete offering of portable tech with a GTA III app release landing in the run up to the Christmas period.

Compatible with both the original Apple tablet and the iPad 2 as well as the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and most recent iPod Touch iterations the GTA III iOS price has been set at a rather reasonable £2.99

Given the same sub £3 price tag for its Android arrival, the mobile GTA III release will be compatible with a selection of Google powered smartphones and tablets including the LG Optimus 2X handset, Samsung’s 8.9 and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab tablets and the recently released Sony Tablet S.
