Griffin's new Helo TC AppPowered accessory looks to take on the Parrot AR Drone

Following the success of the Parrot AR Drone gadget accessory guru Griffin Technology has announced it is to launch an app powered flying helicopter with the Helo TC to land in time for the Christmas rush.

Crafted from a lightweight metal frame with a black polycarbonate shell the Helo TC is the latest addition to Griffin’s recently announced range of AppPowered accessories and will allow users to operate the twin rotor aircraft from a free mobile application available for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Utilising the iOS device’s inbuilt accelerometer, users will be able to navigate the Helo TC by tilting their Apple gadgets in the direction they want the helicopter to fly or turn. Rechargeable by connecting to a computer via USB the Griffin Helo TC will sport an eight minute average flight time.

Set to launch later this year ahead of the Christmas shopping rush the Griffin Helo TC is to be made available from Apple stores and will set wannabe owners back £34.99.
