Games studio, GREE, has announced the opening of a new games development studio in East london’s Tech City, The new studio, which is part of GREE's planned relocation to the area analysts are calling 'Silicon Roundabout', will develop mobile social games. It's part of the company's expansion in Europe.
GREE's Country Manager, Daisuke Kobayashi, explained the move made sense for the developer, saying: "as a new company settling in London we looked for the most relevant area for us. Being surrounded by many other technical and digital companies and the buzz that goes with it is what we are looking for. We know that being there will help us find new partners, help us recruit the best talent from tech industries, and keep us at the top of mobile games innovation."
"There are already some video game studios based there and of course we think that new studio's or new video games companies could also find it very interesting to join Tech City, and if they do then we would of course look forward to meeting with them and discussing opportunities on the GREE platform," he added.
GREE is planning to exhibit at this month's Gamescom video games convenyion in Cologne, and the company says its recruitment team will be on hand to discuss employment opportunities.
