Gran Turismo 5 UK release date set for November 24th

Much-delayed GT5 finally set to land on the PS3

New Gran Turismo to launch in time for Christmas

After revealing earlier today that a Gran Turismo 5 announcement was imminent, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has officially confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will be available in the UK from November 24th.

Polyphony Digital CEO and mastermind of the much loved Gran Turismo franchise, Kazunori Yamauchi commented on the game that has been years in development and has suffered from numerous delays saying, "Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Programme!”

Yamauchi also commented on the importance of pleasing loyal GT fans saying that it was "at the heart of all of our efforts" and that the decision to delay the game was a decision that SCEE did not take lightly.

He ended by saying, "I can only apologise to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed.” Well, let's hope it's worth the wait Mr Yamauchi.

GT fans can look forward to burning around 71 courses (which includes the Top Gear test track), with an impressive 1,031 of the sleekest cars set to be available in the game.

Glad that the wait for Gran Turismo 5 is almost over? Will it prove more popular than Call of Duty Black Ops? Share your thoughts via Twitter and Facebook.
