Gran Turismo 5 patch to improve damage models

New patch to hit Gran Turismo in "early December"

Gran Turismo 5 damage models to be given overhaul

Following its glitch-hit launch last week, Gran Turismo 5 is to be on the receiving end of another patch later this month with improved damage modelling taking top priority.

Head of Polyphony Digital and GT guru, Kazunori Yamauchi has spoken of the inbound updates via Twitter proclaiming 'Mechanical damage options will be implemented in a new update for GT5 coming "early December"'.

The ultra realistic Gran Turismo 5 has come under criticism since launch for its current mechanical damage system that offers more realistic crashes the further users progress in the game and the higher their driver rating becomes.

With a patch launched ahead of the game’s release to allow online content to be accessed, reports of delays and loading issues to single player modes resulting from congested online content forced Sony to release a second online content patch over the weekend in an attempt to curb the problems.
