The fifth instalment of the highly successful racing franchise will be launched exclusively for the PS3 and will utilise the console’s online gaming credentials to offer play against 15 other gamers across the globe.

The game’s phenomenal graphic quality, visible the video below, offers realistic damage to each of the 1,000 featured cars and is further boosted by the option to play in 3D. Collaborations with Red Bull Racing and TV sensation Top Gear further add to the game’s heavy feature load.

The Gran Turismo franchise, which has sold in excess of 50-million units since it debuted in 1997, originally unveiled its fifth instalment during the 2006 E3 conference. Plagued by issues since, the release in time for this year’s holiday season is sure to please many a gaming fan.
