Software update means devs can build Google TV specific apps.
Google TV is set to get a major overhaul, after the search giant revealed plans to boost its software and bring on board new hard ware partners. The announcement came at Google I/O, the Big G’s bash currently on in San Francisco.
The software on Google TV is set to be bumped up to Android 3.1, with devs able to use the Honeycomb development kit to make add-ons specifically for the service. New partners are also being added, with Sony, Samsung and Vizio joining Logitech.
More details of Google TV updates are expected to be released today during a special session on the product. Hopefully we’ll hear when the service will launch in the UK.
