Google Latitude hits App Store

Location app back after making early appearance

No strife between Apple and Google as Latitude finally lands on iPhone and iPad.

Google Latitude, the Big G’s location-aware offering, has finally hit Apple’s App Store, having initially been spotted last week and then very swiftly removed.

The new app is simple: use it to share your location on a Google Map, find out where your pals are and even tell buddies where you are continuously, by using background updating.

Of course, Google’s baked in a raft of privacy measures to stymy concerns of those who don’t want potential cat burglars/stalkers knowing exactly where you are. You can simply tell people your city location or only hand over detailed info to selected friends.

The app’s available now on iTunes for free. Have a gander and make sure you let us know what you think over on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
