Google G2 Android phone breaks cover, photos leaked
Latest Google phone goes on a crash diet
Back in the depths of 2008, we got out our crystal ball, looked deep into it and predicted the arrival of the Google G2 phone in early 2009. Well, it looks like our clairvoyancy was right on the mark.
Photographic evidence of the HTC-made Google G2 phone has hit the web - and it's much as we expected and predicted, with the keyboard consigned to history (control now restricted to the touchscreen), the profile considerably more slim and everything else effectively as you found it. Or at least that's what we presume - the images didn't come accompanied with an all-new specification.
So it's likely to be evolution rather than revolution, with the G2 probably lined up as a different option for the bulk and keyboard-haters out there as opposed to a replacement for the first-generation handset. We heard the release date for the new phone was April 2009 - with prototypes already doing the rounds, that's looking even more likely by the day.
