App developers using Google Play (formally Android Market) were up in arms this month after not being paid by Google thanks to some technical issues
Google was showered with complaints just a few days ago after Android developers were surprised to find that they did not receive payment for their Android apps earlier this month.
App developers banded together in threads on Google Groups to post their complaints, ranging from confused to extremely angry.
User ‘YossarianIAm’ explained his issue: “For some reason my Google Checkout March payment which has been shown as paid out on the 2nd March has not arrived in my bank account? It normally arrives in my bank account on the 7th of each month.”
A Google spokesman finally replied to one thread 9 days after its creation: “We have worked to resolve this, and payouts were initiated on 15 March 2012. However, your bank may take up to three additional business days to register the payout in your account. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced and appreciate your understanding.”
As of yesterday, we are now seeing reports of developers finally receiving their payments, though there is no hint of an apology from Google for the delay in payment. There is still no clue as to what or who caused the delay.
