Ghost Recon tops gaming chart as Max Payne 3 is dethroned

Ubisoft FPS offering tops UK All Format Gaming chart just days after launch

Max Payne 3's reign of the UK Gaming Chart was short lived with Ubisoft's latest Ghost Recon title dethroning the Rockstar title

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has stormed to the top of the UK All Format Gaming Chart with the Ubisoft developed release dethroning Rockstar’s Max Payne 3.

Taking top honours for the week ending May 26th, the latest first-person shooter to sport the branding of the Tom Clancy franchise has debuted atop the charts with Max Payne 3 falling one position to second whilst Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma entered the fray in third.

Maintaining a strong showing for the new releases, Codemasters’ DiRT Showdown slid in to a respectable fourth, narrowly missing out on a podium position but holding off the continuingly strong FIFA 12 in fifth.

Taking the lesser honours in the week’s top 10, Sniper Elite V2 Rebellion secured sixth with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Prototype 2 lining up in seventh and eighth spots respectively. Following a record breaking opening week that saw it land second in the charts, Activision Blizzards Diablo 3 slumped to ninth with FIFA Street rounding out the top ten.
