Get Creative with your iPod
New accessories designed to perk up your sound quality.
Creative has revealed details of its forthcoming iPod accessories range, which incorporates the company's X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio standard. X-Fi is designed to improve audio quality of highly compressed music - its X-Fi Crystalizer actively enhances the actual audio while X-Fi CMSS-3D transforms it from stereo into surround sound.
The main attraction of the new range is the i600, a compact 2.1-channel system with iPod dock, two speakers and subwoofer. Then there's the Xdock, which spits X-Fi sound to your hi-fi and video to your telly.
Two portable speaker docks are also on the way. The PlayDock i500 (£150) features a subwoofer and will run off the mains or 8 C batteries (in which case it'll pump out tunes for 16 hours). The smaller TravelSound i has a USB slot for transferring files and runs off four AA batteries for 25 hours.
Aside from the i500, which is available now, prices and release dates are yet to be confirmed for the UK, but you can find the US details here .
