Video games retailer Game is set to increase the number of tablets it sells, after it announced that it will start stocking the iPad, and a number of cheaper Android devices.
Up until now, the retailer – which was recently rescued from administration – has only stocked the Google Nexus 7. It said that sales of the tablet had been that good, the decision to expand the range to include other tablets was "simple".
The retailer is particularly keen about Archos' £129.99 GamePad, which it believes will become a big seller.
Game said that the move was natural as tablets are increasingly becoming a major gaming platform. "Tablets are an increasingly popular gaming platform so it's a natural step for us to be at the heart of providing these to the UK gaming community," said Charlotte Knight, category director at the retailer.
"We are really excited about the GamePad, it's great to be able to offer our customers something that is not only brand new but specifically tailored to gamers."
