Freesat+ arrives in UK stores

Pause and record those subscription-free HD favourites

If you want HD for free, as well as an increased selection of viewing, Freesat is certainly worth a look, just as long as you don't mind the bin lid on the side of the house. And from this weekend, you can take advantage of Freesat+.

Not just a receiver, the first  Freesat+ box (previewed last month) offers a pause and rewind function for the 140 Freesat channels current on offer, along with a hefty 320GB drive, able to store up to 80 hours of HD TV. TV when you want it and no nasty subscription fees, just what we want with a credit crunch biting.

The Humax-made Freesat+ box will be available in high street stores including John Lewis, Comet, Argos and Dixons for around £299. But don't forget, you'll also need that dish, a HD-ready TV and someone to wire it all up.

problem is you only get BBC HD from 7 o'clock and ITV HD during selected features that hardly matching what Sky HD offers, and don't get me wrong i'm hardly a Sky fanboy but if Freesat want a bigger slice of the HD market there needs to be more HD on offer than one and a bit channels......
