Free games land on Steam

Bonus downloadable content for early users

New 'F2P' package comes as Valve's Steam platform goes from strength to strength.

Steam, the online gaming platform from Valve, has branched out into free games. The company revealed its plans last night, with five new titles up for grabs this week.

The games include Spiral Knights, Forsaken Worlds, Champions Online: Free for All, Global Agenda: Free Agent and Alliance of Valiant Arms (AVA).

What’s more, if you snag one of them before Sunday, you’ll get exclusive free downloadable content too. In an official blurb, Valve said, “Beginning tomorrow (Weds) with Spiral Knights and concluding Sunday with AVA, each of the five launch titles will offer exclusive in-game content to those who try the 'F2P (free to play) game of the day' on Steam.”
