First LG webOS TVs to arrive in 2014
Company confirms OS-powered smart TVs won’t arrive in 2013, but 'soon thereafter'
LG has hinted that the first WebOS powered TVs could be hitting store shelves as soon as next year.
Speaking with The Verge, vice president of communications at LG John Taylor said that WebOS is in “fast track development” following its purchase from HP.
“It’s going to be in a product very soon,” he said. “Not in 2013, but soon thereafter.”
He also revealed that the company is “very confident webOS technology is a gamechanger when it comes to user experience.”
The news comes after vice president of smart TVs in North America revealed that the OS would be shipping in TVs to 82 countries.
