Firefox 3.1 beta 1 available now for testing

Testing, testing, one, two, free

Releasing beta versions of unreleased software is a very clever way for companies to use us all as slaves. Whilst we're all thinking "great, we get to play with the newest version really soon", the top execs are thinking "great, they get to test it for us without us having to pay anyone."

Either way, Mozilla Firefox 3.1 beta 1 is now available for download. Mozilla is quick to stress that there will be some "rough edges" with the beta download, but the finished product should be with us in early '09, offering tab-switching shortcuts that preview the tab you're switching to, improved control over the Smart Location Bar and the ability to drag and drop tabs from one Firefox window to another.

All very exciting stuff, we're sure you'll agree. Get testing!
