Following last week’s FIFA 12 release date EA Sports’ eagerly awaited football sim has topped the UK All Format Gaming Charts, recording the UK’s third highest opening week sales in the process.
Topped only by Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, FIFA 12 accounted for 54 per cent of all gaming sales in its opening week, up 18 per cent on last years FIFA 11 offering.
Taking top spot in the UK Gaming Chart from Gears of War 3 the Microsoft title dropped one place to second with F1 2011 losing a single place to drop to third. Former chart toppers Zumba Fitness, Dead Island and Deus Ex: Human Revolution completed the week ending October 1st in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
The week’s second highest new entry, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection landed in seventh ahead of Driver: San Francisco in eighth and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean in ninth. Ahead of next month’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release date, Call of Duty: Black Ops rounded out the top ten.
