UK now has the distinction of having a person thought to be the oldest member of social networking website, Facebook.

Great-grandmother Lillian Lowe, 103, Facebooks with an Apple iPad in order to keep in touch with family and friends.

However, since being outed as the oldest Facebook user, the centenarian who lives in Tenby, has received a deluge of Facebook friend requests from people around the world. The BBC reports she has had 999 friend requests already.

Her current profile picture has her with the Apple iPad showing Facebook on the touch-screen.

Facebook, which now has over 500 million users, sees Ms Lowe around two times a week.

The tech-aware great-gran also thanked people for their messages.
