F1 2012 UK release date set for September by Codemasters

Developer Codemasters reveals it will launch the F1 2012 gaming release in September

As the new Formula 1 season gets under way in Australia this weekend, developer Codemasters has revealed it will launch F1 2012 in September

Following back-to-back hits, developer Codemasters has revealed it is to launch the eagerly awaited F1 2012 gaming release in September, tying the announcement into the start of the new F1 2012 racing season.

Having extended its partnership with the Formula 1 governing body, Codemasters is set to return to the starting grid later this year bringing the fast paced, action packed sport of F1 back to Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 consoles as well as PCs.

F1 2012 Features

Building on the comprehensive race weekend offerings and time trial modes found within the previous Codey iterations of the F1 franchise, the Birmingham-based developer is to introduce a number of new features to the racing sim including the arrival of a new Young Driver Test mode.

Replicating the real-life rookie proving ground, the new F1 2012 features will see gamers prove their skills in order to earn a place on a team for the upcoming season and test their abilities against a grid of the world’s best drivers.

“When I came to Abu Dhabi I couldn’t go to the simulator so I switched on the videogame and started to play,” said Scuderia Toro Rosso young driver Stefano Coletti. “It actually worked because when I got here I felt like I’d already driven [the circuit]. It was my first race in GP2, first ever time in GP2, and I won in my first race so it actually helped.”

F1 2012 Release Date

Although Codemasters has yet to offer up an exact F1 2012 release date the developer has confirmed that it will bring all 20 races of the 2012 Formula 1 season alongside the full line-up of 24 drivers to gaming fans this September.
