Eye-Fi’s Wi-Fi enabled SD card takes T3 Accessory Award
Showing that SD cards can be a piece of tech to covet rather than frequently misplace the Wi-Fi enabled Eye-Fi Pro X2 has beaten the Apple iPad 2 Smart Cover to the 2011 Gadget Accessory of the Year Award
In what is widely considered one of the less glamorous aspects of the tech world Eye-Fi has shown the SD cards can be something to take note of as the Eye-Fi Pro X2 card is named the T3 Gadget Awards 2011 Gadget Accessory of the Year.
In a category featuring two variants of iPad 2 cover the X2’s time saving skills and ease of use have taken it to the top of the charts with the 8GB SD card allowing users to stream snaps from their cameras and Wi-Fi enabled cards to a variety of devices.
Eye-Fi Pro X2 Card Features
Boasting 8GB of storage, enough for hosting some 4,000 photos or 3 hours of video the Eye-Fi Pro X2 connects directly to your Wi-Fi network doing away with fiddly cables to transfer images from the 802.11n wireless enabled card to specific folders on users PCs, iPads, smartphones or hard drives.
Taking the hassle out of creating backups the X2 toppled the Griffin Adidas miCoach armband and JobyGorillapod to take the T3 title as the 2011 Gadget Accessory of the Year.
“Someone has clearly thought about how to make life simpler with tech, and this is the result,” said T3.com Editor and Awards judge Kieran Alger discussing the newly crowned Eye-Fi Pro X2.
