Move comes after Jaaksi's departure following changes at the top at Espoo.
Ex-MeeGo boss heads to Palm
HP/Palm has swooped in and appointed ex-MeeGo boss Ari Jaaksi to look after webOS, filling the role vacated by the operating system’s creator Peter Skillman, who recently moved in the opposite direction.
The news comes from All Things D, which claims ‘sources close to the company’ have revealed details of the shock move. Jaaksi quite Nokia earlier this month for ‘personal reasons’, widely assumed to be down to the appointment of Stephen Elop as CEO.
It all means MeeGo and webOS have essentially swapped bosses as both operating systems gear up for a hectic few months. webOS is set for its second coming with the imminent Palm Pre 2, while MeeGo is supposed to be heading our way by the end of 2010.
